3D Art Direction Motion Graphics Rebranding Strategy UI/UX Design Website

Halt! Who goes there? Is it another epoch crypto product? Obviously revolutionary and groundbreaking, just like every single other? Yeah. But there’s actually a bit more to Sandclock.

Their aim is to re-wire the philanthropy-inclined by allowing them to make worldwide donations via $QUARTZ, Sandclock’s token. As Tyra Banks puts it, “never dull your shine for the crypto audience” and we, in fact, had a shiny universe all thought out to showcase Sandclock’s idea to the world.

It just didn’t go 100% through as planned. More on that in a second.

We opted out of all things hourglass and designed a quartz-shaped logo, crafting a proper crystal-inspired brand universe to support the narrative. In the process, we revamped the design system and interface for the product dashboard and onboarding and got the website all planned. Which would be the pivotal point of the experience. Cream of the crop type stuff only. The only thing was… it all got crystallized near the finish line. Sorta.

The crypto crowd had to be kept buzzing and sacrifices had to be made. Sandclock ended up going forward with our website design only and implemented it. You know it: the no-code show must go on, so it did, and we did our version of the website that you can see a tad below.

The Dashboard & Onboarding

We revised and revamped the original dashboard UI/UX sketch to a more on-brand design system with a dual mode: dark clover for the dark mode enthusiasts & starlight with a sand-tone twist. The onboarding was also a key moment of first contact with the brand so we extended the 3D crystal shapes over the setup questions.

The Rebranding

The logo we designed for Sandclock got selected to feature in LogoLounge Book 13 (2022).
It is always a highlight of the year when your logo gets picked to go among the best of the best.
This year’s numbers: 39k submissions, 3k logos selected. This is actually the 54th logo we designed that ends up in the LogoLounge collection but it always feels like the first time.
